Water & Wastewater

Jons Civil Engineering Company Ltd. (JCEL) has successful water and wastewater infrastructure project experience.

This experience covers the planning, design, construction management, operation and maintenance of large diameter gravity pipelines, rising mains, sea outfalls, pumping stations, wet wells, dry wells, emergency overflow storm water storage tanks, flow control monitoring facilities, flood relief and sustainable urban drainage systems.

Our teams have developed strong working relationships with both private and public asset owners, utility providers, and local communities, delivering active community engagement, fewer unforeseen issues, and timely responsiveness to issues as they arise.

JCEL have completed technically challenging, time-sensitive projects in difficult locations such as busy urban streets, built-up residential areas, crossing Irish Rail and Luas Line infrastructure and adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas such as public parks, rivers, beaches and canals. We continue to be actively involved with new and emerging technologies, which allows us to select the most sustainable and cost-effective approach to meet our clients’ needs.

Testing and commissioning:

As part of our quality management system, all new assets are tested and commissioned to ensure compliance with client specific requirements.

Operate and Maintenance:

Jons have successfully completed operate and maintenance periods on all of their recent projects with Irish Water.

Trunk mains:

Trunk mains are critical infrastructure. Jon’s have been delivering trunk mains for over 35 years using conventional open cut methods, deep trenching, thrust bores, micro tunneling and horizontal directional drilling. Our ability to deliver technically challenging projects within tight time-frames has seen us work on key projects throughout Ireland.

Distribution:

Jons have successfully installed hundreds of kilometres of potable water, storm water and waste water distribution infrastructure. We hold framework agreements with Irish Water, Dublin City Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and have completed works for numerous Local Authorities and businesses in the private sector.

Pumping Stations:

Water and Wastewater Pumping stations encompass significant civil engineering temporary and permanent works including cofferdams, concrete water retaining structures, pipework installations, mechanical, electrical and control works. Jons have constructed pumping stations to 8 metres in depth in highly constrained urban site conditions. We have recently delivered pumping stations in Balbriggan, Rush, Bray, Skibbereen and at Dublin Airport.

Design and Build:

Jons have experience in taking a specimen design through to a full turn-key design and construct solution. With experience across all utilities, we provide a single point of accountability. Whether designing a new facility or refurbishing, expanding or bringing an existing facility up to regulatory standards, Jons works in tandem with our clients’ management and operations teams to develop comprehensive implementation plans.

Jons have built strong relationships with leading engineering design consultants who we partner with to deliver a wide array of capabilities, including detailed design, alignment sheets and CAD drawings, as-built records, detailed services assessment, environmental assessments, route feasibility and design, route analysis and optimisation.
