An excavation caused a potential road subsidence and then led to the destabilisation of a main road on a very scenic route with residential homes and local schools in close proximity. JCEL were called in to carry out emergency remedial works on the west section of the road and stabilise the embankment.
Works included surveying, movement monitoring and soil investigations by Specialised Contractors to assist the consulting engineer in determining the design solution for the remediation required. The works were completed in 11 weeks and the road reopen to the public.
