Jons Civil Engineering Company Ltd. carried out all civils and remedial works to the superstructure of UBC 391, Monard Viaduct on the Dublin-Cork Line which occurred under a railway possession with no train operations for a period of 10 days.
The works consisted of the installation of an in-situ reinforced concrete slab over the existing masonry structure with weather proofing material and associated drainage. The double track was lifted and the ballast material excavated.
Works were at an extreme height over a deep valley with an access road in close proximity to the Dublin-Cork railway line.
