TII have engaged Roughan & O’Donovan-AECOM for the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment on the M50 motorway, including advanced motorway indicators, variable messaging signs (VMS) and roadside equipment. The overall aim of this project is to provide travel time information to drivers, increase safety on the road and to optimise traffic flows.
Our works involved all civils works including the installation of ducting, chambers, plinths and Equipment Cabinets to facilitate the upgrade of the existing ITS installations on the M50.
We performed all the temporary traffic management for this contract on the M50 with over 170,000 vehicles using the road per day.
