Projects - Enabling Works at Crag Digital

Echelon Data Centres are developing a high profile location at Crag Avenue, Clondalkin Co. Dublin. The enabling works carried out by JCEL was necessary to divert a 520m section of an existing 1200mm diameter concrete trunk foul sewer. The 9B foul sewer traversed the eastern part of the site and flows in a southerly direction. The foul sewer average flow in dry weather was 250l/s and during wet conditions 400l/s.

The works involved the installation of 1350mm diameter concrete pipes and 3m internal diameter concrete manholes. On completion of the pipe-line diversion a significant cut/fill earthworks operation was undertaken to establish site levels for the next phase of the works. The works were undertaken using Jons own modern plant and technology.

Environmental measures on the project included an interceptor ditch and two settlement ponds to prevent water runoff. Archaeologists monitored the stripping of topsoil.
